Though Dundee’s waterfront area has arguably been the main talking point of the city’s current regeneration project, up at the lively Westport quarter, less than ten minutes from the waterfront, Gallery 48 is a business at the forefront of artistic endeavour, offering an unparalleled experience compared to many of its counterparts in the city centre and beyond.

Inside, the bright, modern décor lays host to a multi-faceted exhibition space and an ambient atelier looking out on to the bustling Westport area, providing regular workshops and bookable hosting opportunities. Showcasing local art has been at the heart of Gallery 48’s ethos throughout much of their exhibitions with several of Dundee’s DJCAD graduates’ work having been on display and available for purchase over the past few years.

Gallery 48 offers more than purely an art space however. Their authentic Spanish tapas menu, accompanied by hand-chosen Spanish wines and a punchy gin menu – all at reasonable prices might we add – has gained a hot reputation among locals and newcomers alike. Their flexible menu also offers gluten free and dairy free options, meaning no one will be feeling left out at the table.
