Grunting Growler

Grunting Growler is the type of shop you dream of having on your doorstep. With shelves jam-packed with craft beer, you would be hard-pressed to find a better beer shop in Glasgow, or even the country.

There are over 120 varieties for sale in bottles but the real joy is in being able to try before you buy from their selection of draught beers. Simply take along your insulated growler, sample a few of that day’s draft offerings from the five taps and fill up with your favourite for the road. The staff love beer and seriously know their stuff. Don’t be afraid to test them: what type of flavours do you like? What are you having for dinner? They’ve definitely got a beer for that.

Food pairings with local pop-ups have allowed them to show off their expertise even further. A pop-up menu from South East Asian local faves Ka Pao offered five courses with a well-matched beer for each round. Good work everyone. It's no surprise that Skinny readers voted it one of the best shops in the country.
