Dundee loves their rock! And Beat Generator Live! adds a necessary addition to the thriving scene with a much smaller and friendlier experience than its superclub counterparts. Low ceilings and a dim but colourful interior provide a snug setting for its live music nights that showcase local and better-known bands - the majority of these playing tribute to the by-gone greats such as Slip Knot, Deep Purple and The Clash. The alternative club nights preach to the punk, rock, metal and indie fans of the city and have been rewarded with a firm and friendly following, with events happening throughout the week.

Walls are adorned with pictures and album covers from past rock legends; it makes a charming appeal to those who really know their stuff. A decent selection of beer and cider keeps the punters returning (by the time you've tried them all you'll have forgotten the first). Dress-up, dress-down, whatever goes, but you'll make no statement here in tartan troosers and a leather jacket.
