The Butchershop Bar & Grill on Sauchiehall Street is a place where they take meat seriously. Very seriously.

They’ve got House Cuts, Reserve Cuts and mildly bank-breaking, assuredly mind-blowing Signature Cuts. This is the place you dream of going one day in your high-flying future, clad in your finest finery, nonchalantly spending more on a steak than you currently make in a day, washing it down with an expertly selected bottle of red and greeting the bill with the wry smile of someone for whom such concerns are but a distant memory, like white Christmases or landline telephones.

But for now, the good folks behind Glasgow’s premiere steakhouse are happy to cut you a deal, setting aside a couple of days a week for the more economically-challenged of us to get carnivorous in style. One such deal has been their Sunday Roast which offers two courses for under twenty quid or a decadent full roast for two, carved tableside, for about the same. How good is that? Good enough to merit a Best Sunday Lunch nod in our 2018 Food and Drink Survey, that’s how good.
