Every outlet that serves coffee now claims to have highly-trained baristas who are passionate about coffee. At Papercup Coffee it’s not just a claim – owner Graeme Crawford gathered eight years experience in coffee whilst living in Sydney. Papercup Coffee on Great Western Road is his first venture back on home soil and his mission is simple – to deliver consistently great coffee in the cup, every time.
Inside, the gleaming coffee machine takes centre stage, with the walls and floors stripped of paint. The minimalism could seem clinical, but the scarlet painted pillars and thriving pot plants make it a welcoming place to sit and enjoy a brew. The coffee is undeniably excellent and the staff are genuinely interested in finding which particular blend will suit your tastes. Snacks on offer depend on what has been baking that particular day, but highlights include cinnamon scones and chocolate walnut brownies. For true coffee connoisseurs Papercup Coffee sells everything you need to start some home-brewing of your own, including espresso beans and equipment. And if you need a demonstration, they’ve plans to host roasting classes on the premises for both the public and the industry. Papercup Coffee is the bean to your craving, if you will.
What's more, Papercup has stood its ground when faced with the biggest test of all - the Skinny's Annual Food and Drink Survey! This coffee haven was hailed as one of the best cafes in Scotland in 2017, along with the likes of Cafe Strange Brew, Lovecrumbs, Artisan Roast and Primal Roast.
