El Perro Negro

Running a pop-up restaurant is exactly like Pokemon. You start with a little thing, train and train to get better, tour around finding new places to test yourself, and eventually it evolves into a bigger, badder version of its original self, and then you’re really in business. El Perro Negro is now a big ‘ol growling Machamp of a burger bar.

As a pop-up, the El Perro team proved themselves across the country. They stepped up to James Vs The Burger and handed James his ass. Now they’ve got permanent digs on the Finnieston end of Argyle Street, and it’s everything you hoped it would be.

Burgers blessed with bone marrow butter and black truffle mayo, caramelised onions and Swiss cheese. Each one is a meaty ode to burgerly perfection, glistening as deliciously on the plate they do in the picture.

Every year, The Skinny holds a Food & Drink Survey, where we give you the opportunity to vote for the best restaurants, pubs and cafes in town. El Perro Negro earned a couple of spots in our 2019 survey in the Best New Place and Best Takeaway category.
