If you're looking for something different to do in Glasgow's city centre, alone or with friends, look no further than The Craft Pottery, a quirky little paint-your-own pottery studio.

Suitable for all ages, the idea behind The Craft Pottery is that you pick a blank ceramic bisque piece (pottery) and get creative, all in a super chilled-out and relaxing atmosphere with plenty of natural light, wooden floors and an excellent Glasgow-inspired mural across one wall. If you get stuck, there are stencils, stamps, inspiration boards and friendly arty staff to inspire you. Or, if you're really, really stuck, there's a BYOB policy, and we all know a glass or two of wine goes a long way in boosting those creative juices.

Once you're done, you leave your masterpiece to be glazed, fired and finished so it's beautiful and shiny and also safe for use with food, dishwashers and microwaves (safety first, kids!). Then, when it's ready (usually within a week) pick it up and display it proudly, gift it to a friend, take photos of it for Instagram etc. – whichever way you prefer to show off your artistic genius, really.

There's a flat £3 rate for every painter, then it depends on which bisque you choose to paint, though the most popular ones come in at around £7. With three rooms, each with their own individual speaker systems, The Craft Pottery also offer hand-building pottery classes and party packages, but it's worth bearing in mind that if you're a group of seven or more, you'll need to privately book.
