There's a new arrival on Glasgow's cultural spectrum, and Trader Joe's occupies a lovely wee niche between old-school indulgence and trendy watering-hole.
The multi-tasking and unfailingly friendly staff jazz up the traditional pub décor with samples of their own art pieces, including murals of iconic Glaswegians and  graffitied stairwells Banksy would be happy with.
Behind the bar is a sturdy selection of beers, wines and spirits, alongside a sizeable cocktail menu, while a hoppingly vital and varied entertainment bill gathers together sessions of Scottish and jazz music, Open Mic evenings featuring talent from the prestigious RSAMD, and poker nights. 
Sitting directly opposite the Theatre Royal, Trader Joe's is well placed for a pre-theatre drink or supper - although there are no guarantees you'll even make the performance once you begin to appreciate everything this place has to offer.
