What was previously The Wee Curry Shop in Glasgow’s West End has been transformed and renamed The Glasgow Curry Shop.  Situated upstairs from Jinty McGinty’s on Ashton Lane, The Glasgow Curry Shop has removed the traditional decor and revamped the restaurant with cappuccino-coloured walls and artfully-framed pictures. The restaurant is basically a celebration of Glasgow’s love affair with curry, with the walls covered in memorabilia from Glasgow curry houses of the past, with the owner keen to source more photographs and continue the story.

Still owned by Mother India the food is as good as ever, and while the menu is fairly short there’s an ever-changing board of specials (they’ve even been known to make curries on request), while 'The Wee Taster' menu served at lunch allows you to sample several small dishes at once. While the venue is in possession of its own licensed bar, they also allow patrons to bring their own bottles for a small corkage charge. And luckily the change of name hasn’t affected their student biryanis deal – with lamb, chicken or vegetable biryanis served with rice and a vegetable side dish for under a fiver. Make like a superfast thing.
