Originally based on Tollcross Road Simply Swap, Glasgow’s first Fashion Swap Shop, has moved to bigger and better premises on Duke Street. The idea behind the store is very simple-bring an unwanted item of clothing or accessory in good condition to the shop and swap it for something else. There’s no money involved and swapping is unlimited so you can bring as many unwanted items as you like. Developed and run by Playbusters’ Grow Green with Glasgow’s East End project Simply Swap’s new premises has been designed, decorated and staffed by local volunteers who are keen to promote the benefits of recycling. They run various workshops on crafty reusing and recycling to encourage a greener attitude to waste and the environment. The shop stocks men’s, women’s and child’s clothing as well as shoes and accessories so if you believe your trash could be another’s treasure visit any Thursday or Friday to enjoy this cash free fashion exchange.
