Working with the same team of suppliers who produce the meat, poultry and seafood for their Perthshire and Tighnabruaich hotel-restaurants, Wee Lochan's West-End establishment is a testament to the difference such a close relationship can effect.

Expect fish dishes so tasty you really must pace yourself to avoid a prematurely-clean plate, and a cheese platter fit to bust with unusual and uniquely Scottish produce. The Bonnet (hard goats' cheese) is especially confusing to the tastebuds, and thus, especially rewarding upon realisation of how good it is.

Wee Lochan's accommodating atmosphere is reflected in its choice of menus. There's the standard light lunch, which reads like a what's-what of ultimate seafood dining. There's the set menu with a divine selection of two and three course meals. Sure, along with the price of your drink you won't recieve any change from a twenty, but who needs change rattling in their pocket after they've been treated to a roast breast of chicken and chorizo followed by butterscotch sticky toffee pudding? Other menus include the wider dinner menu, a pre-theatre menu and a Sunday dinner menu.

Safe to say a visit to Wee Lochan may well leave you loosening your belt by a notch. Or four.
