Riverhill Coffee Bar

Nestled snugly into a row of shops on Gordon Street, Riverhill is a welcome addition to Glasgow’s city centre, which is saturated with big name chain coffee shops and sandwich-mongers. The shop is tiny and minimalistic, with exposed brick walls, and (very) limited seating – at peak times, there is going to be a queue, and you are going to have to take away, or sit on the knee of some lucky seat-dweller.

Sister of Riverhill cafe in Helensburgh, the coffee bar sells the ever-popular Dear Green coffee, and an array of daily-changing sandwiches, salads, and hot pots. The cakes look mouth-wateringly good, conveniently all piled up in a display counter right beside the queue, tempting you to blurt out “I’ll have one of those… and one of those… and one of those” – all to take away, probably.
