Ramen Dayo! West End

Runaway success story Ramen Dayo! have added a new string to their bow with a West End branch.

Their story kicked off only a couple of years ago when they first popped up in the city on the alleyway beside Bierrehalle on Gordon Street. A temporary flatshare with Max’s Bar embedded them in the Queen Street area, where they quickly got their first good and proper home a few doors down. Not content to stop there, they have opened a second branch in a location that means serious business: Ashton Lane. The loft space has the familiar character and décor of their city centre branch, adorned with red paper lanterns and masks.

The menu too remains the same, a reassuring mix of ramen, ramen and more ramen. Their signature bone broth is cooked for 20 hours and features pork belly, mushrooms, spring onions and seaweed. A couple of veggie options are on the go now too, including a vegetarian version of their Tantanmen, a sesame-based spicy ramen. Extra toppings can be added for 50p or a £1 here and there – boiled eggs, beansprouts, more noodles, there’s plenty of room to make it your own. OG fans of their work will be happy to hear they had no trouble getting a license for this address, meaning you can wash it all down with a glass of Kirin or even one of their pretty good wines, which come in at the surprisingly cheap price of £12.95 a bottle.
