Owner Katie Spiers is also a popular blogger who, under the nom de keyboard Katie Le Vie, writes on fashion and interior design. Walking into the Southside coffee house feels a lot like slipping into one of her posts: decorated with the same minimalism and lightness of touch that defines her online style, throwing in a few eclectic touches like a knowing wink.

Market Coffee might just be the most Instagrammable joint in Glasgow, with its snow white walls, rose gold cutlery and pink neon signage. If a fairy tale princess opened a hipster coffee shop, it would probably look a little like Market Coffee. It all looks perfectly arranged without feeling fussed over: there’s a comfortable quality to it so you don’t sit in fear of incurring the owner’s wrath if you spill a coffee droplet or drop a vegan cake crumb.
