The Glasgow University Union (also known as the GUU or just the GU) is one of the two student unions at the University of Glasgow. It's well known for its regular student club nights and rowdy rugby boy members, but there's more to the GU than sticky floors and dirt cheap pints of Tennents.
The GU is the older of Glasgow Uni's two unions, dating back to 1885, when it was a men's only club, and the beautiful building reflects that long history. The union moved to its present dwelling in 1930, where you can find clubs, bars, and other student necessities, as well as two atmospheric libraries. The GU's debating club is renowned across the UK, and the Debating Chamber is well worth a visit for some of that grand old-money style.
