Built with a vision modelled on the dusky underground bars of Berlin and New York, Fault & Blame slotted neatly in beneath West Regent Street and quickly became one of the coolest destinations in the city centre.

All low lighting and leather booths, it’s the kind of place to sit with a bourbon and ponder the loss of a good woman. It makes everyone who walks in feel like a character out a Haruki Murakami novel. It’s just cool as fuck, is what we’re saying.

Speaking of that bourbon, you’ll find the spirit shelves stocked with a mind-melting variety and the taps lined with a host of Drygate brewery’s best offerings, all of which just so happen to be gluten-free. Coming out the kitchen there’s a wave of comfortably priced comfort foods – think loaded fries and macaroni cheese – to accompany your drinks, with everything served up in the laid-back fashion of the iconic bars across the water.

You’ll find no TV screens or fruit machines – Fault & Blame aims to provide a stylish, relaxed places for folks to talk over great food and drink without distraction, and they're willing to stake their business on that idea.

With the promise of food-paired movie nights –think The Godfather with Italian sides or a seafood-filled Jaws – and more to come, Fault & Blame looks like it might be a mainstay of “Glasgow’s Best Bars” lists for the forseeable future.
