If you find yourself in Liverpool wandering the streets of the Baltic Triangle, don’t miss up the chance to stop and refuel at Unit 51.
Situated at the front of the Baltic Creative – the innovative office space for the city’s creative industries in the form of wooden sheds – Unit 51 is a watering hole to the most creative minds of Liverpool, venturesome tourists and indigenous Scousers who are in the know.
It’s robust and friendly, with a real sense of community about the place. Aspiring artists will be pleased to know that Unit 51 offers to display artwork on the walls of the place and will assist with launching any exhibitions. In addition, the camaraderie continues with various events such as book clubs, weekly acoustic nights and film nights, wine tasting evenings and networking events, so keep your eye on the events page for what’s coming up in the future.
Inside it’s bright, and the wooden benches and science class stools give it a modern industrial feel. You’ll find freelancers tapping away at their laptops while simultaneously munching on a bagel or slab of cake with a coffee to wash it down.
You can expect good grub here, whatever the time. Breakfast starts at 8.30am and food is served right through to 6pm, with sandwich and soup options as well as salads and a variety of daily specials.
