Planning a night out in Liverpool? You’ll be needing to know a little more about the nightlife then: things like ‘where the best clubs are’ and ‘where to go to find your favourite type of music’ and soforth. That’s where we come in (and we’re not talking about the football club).
‘The most famous club in the world’ is a term often ascribed to The Cavern Club on Mathew Street – probably something to do with those Beatles fellas, we’ll be bound. One of the best-loved clubs in Liverpool is Garlands, ostensibly a gay club but certainly not exclusive to that scene. Hosting many of the best DJs and clubnights that the UK has to offer, it’s one of the go-to places for a quality night out.
Heebie Jeebies is another favourite destination, not least as it plays host to Liquidation, Liverpool’s home to the best indie, electro, and everything in-between for over 20 years. If you’re a student, you’ll want to know about evergreen cheesemongers The Blue Angel (affectionately known as ‘The Raz’) too – cheap drinks, enjoyably bad music… what’s not to like? Don’t stop here though: some of the best clubs can be found dotted hither and thither across the city’s excellent bar scene: The Shipping Forecast is a prime example.
Liverpool loves clubs and clubs love Liverpool. To help get your head around the array of events on offer, we’ve curated the best guide to Liverpool’s many nightclubs whatever your taste.
