When it comes to shopping, Leeds attracts visitors from far and wide. And rightly so, with more than 1000 different shops within the city centre alone. With so much in a reasonable walking distance, our listings will help you find the best retail therapy.

As one of the UK’s top shopping destinations, Leeds has all the high street names you’d expect, including the selection of stores at Trinity Leeds. In the centre of the city, this shopping centre houses more than 120 shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and an Everyman cinema.  

But what makes Leeds different is its range of independent shops and market stalls. Kirkgate Market is one of the largest covered markets in Europe in a listed building from 1857, and includes 400 stalls (plus 200 outdoors). Briggate also hosts a Farmers and Craft Market on the first and third Sunday every month as well as being the hub of the many streets that make up the shopping quarter.

Independent shops can also be found in the city centre’s historic shopping arcades and the Leeds Corn Exchange. The Victoria Quarter arcades are where you’ll find luxury brands, while the Grand Arcade hosts a range of indie retailers selling something unusual.
