Mamafubu

Situated in an enviable Merchant City location, Mamafubu is a multifaceted Pan-Asian concept restaurant with a story to tell. The latest venture from the guys behind Dumpling Monkey and a firm West End favourite in Chinese cuisine, Mamafubu has already been making waves in the city.

For those unfamiliar with Pan-Asian cuisine, it is essentially an amalgamation of different cuisines from across the continent, offering recognisable dishes from its various cuisines. Mamafubu’s concept was a long time in the making, with their chefs said to have spent years travelling the world sampling the latest Pan-Asian trends, bringing their knowledge back to the fine people of Glasgow.

The menu boasts an eclectic mix of flavours: in a single night one could sample dishes from Taiwan, Beijing, Hong Kong, LA, New York and London among others. There’s plenty to explore and there’s surely something to please most tastes.     

Fashionable city-centre restaurants of this ilk can often be weighed down with hefty price tags; not so with Mamafubu however. Mains commonly clock in at under a tenner and their range of street food can often be half that price. The menu is excellently constructed: it is varied and exciting and is as kind to vegetarians as it is to meat-eaters.

They’re relative newbies on the block, however if they keep this up, they will soon establish themselves as firm favourites. A welcome addition to Glasgow’s stimulating culinary scene.
