Robert Hall, or ‘The Glasgow Glutton’, was a resident of Glasgow’s Merchant City in 19th century, and as the affectionate moniker might suggest, the man seriously loved his grub. Rab Ha’s bar, restaurant and boutique hotel keeps his spirit alive with a Scottish menu built of simple, satisfying dishes. Starters include the breaded Scottish brie with cranberry sauce, or a generous helping of rich Cullen Skink, whilst stand out mains include the Scottish lamb shank, and the Chicken Balmoral (for the uninitiated, that’s chicken breast with haggis inside, served with whisky cream sauce and roast tatties).

Definitely one of Merchant City’s friendlier, more accessible venues, Rab Ha also houses a very cosy, rustic flavoured bar. All in all, it's an uncomplicated, delicious experience – and an excellent option for anyone looking to keep things simple.
