Munro's

Somewhere in the transition from The Captain’s Rest to Munro’s, 185 Great Western Road has acquired a lovely wooden frontage with massive windows. Previously a traditional, windowless box-shaped pub, Munro’s new frontage allows passers by to peer in before they enter. Inside it’s a welcoming space, with Chesterfield armchairs, slick leather booths and, rather bizarrely, a table made from a farm trailer. Describing themselves as a 'craft beer bar', the focus at Munro’s is firmly on their stock list. They serve both craft beer and cask ale with six guest draughts on tap as well as their range of permanent beers. For those finding it difficult to whittle the choice down they offer a Taster Bat – a trio of tasters of your favourite draughts – on a bat. To accompany your pint they serve light bites, beer bites, platters and pizzas. And as you would expect from a bar specialising in beer they show all major sporting events, as well as hosting beer tastings and a regular pub quiz. Check their website for more details.
