The Beresford Lounge

You’ve probably come across the slow teasing of information about Beresford Lounge over social media for the past few months. Short cryptic videos that give very little away: platinum cards, influencer DJ sets, artist’s impressions of the building in yesteryear. You might have found yourself wondering: what exactly is this place? Taking over the iconic red and white Beresford building on Sauchiehall Street (which was built in 1938 as Glasgow’s first “skyscraper”), the team have restored the deco dreamboat to its former glory and are set to reopen the iconic doors at the end of July 2021. A well-chosen mix of opulent interiors, marble-topped cocktail bars, colourful local artworks and neon signs combine to create a sense of old-Hollywood meets modern Glasgow. Split over three floors, with areas to eat, drink, dance and even read the newspaper with an early-morning smoothie, you’d be forgiven for thinking the Beresford was a private members club - rest assured it’s very much open to the public.
