Studio 41 opened in January 2011 as a space for contemporary curating and art in Glasgow city centre. Spread over two levels, the exhibition space has played host to a variety of installations, film screenings, photographic exhibitions and performance art. Committed to developing curating as a practice in Scotland, not only do they accept proposals from those wanting to present a curated exhibition or activity, but they have also collated a wealth of resources on their website relating to curatorial practice.
The programme is a mixture of local upcoming artists, renowned practitioners from across the globe and home grown talent – such as exhibitions of prints by Alasdair Gray. Studio 41 encourages interaction between creative disciplines and runs a writing project for those interested in writing about art that looks to produce pieces that compliment the work on display.
