Rose Theatre Cafe

As if providing Edinburgh's city centre with some of the finest mid-sized performance spaces available wasn't enough, did you know that the Rose Theatre is also home to a rather beautiful cafe?

Tucked away in the belly of the theatre, the Rose Theatre cafe has a loveable hidden-away quality, which makes it an ideal place to escape to if you want to stay central, but avoid the hubbub of Edinburgh's main shopping thoroughfare.  Plonk yourself down in one of the super-squishy sofas and you might just be there all day.

The menu is simple and delicious, with teas and coffees complementing some rather fine cakes, salads, sandwiches and soups. There's nothing bland about the variety on offer though, from an all day brunch menu, which features coconut panacotta, hearty Scottish porridge with berry compote and an array of morning rolls, to a herbivorian dream selection of vegan treats, starting with gorgeous quinoa fritters in the full vegan breakfast and leading on to a tofu and spiced cashew wrap that's got tasty written all over it.
