Built in the early 1900s, the large, ornate, 2,300-seater Caird Hall has held its place as a firm player in Dundee's cultural centre as a key venue for many a school concert, touring orchestra and graduation ceremony over the years. It's also pretty exciting for students to say they've graced the same stage as Frank Sinatra and Led Zepplin - yes, its also known for hosting internationally famous live music acts, proving the adaptability of this place is infinite. Not forgetting a colourful line up of ballet and theatre shows and the more obscure, having hosted anything from cat competitions to the Antiques Roadshow, this venue really does welcome anything and everyone.

Excellent accessibility provisions see the concert hall open to everyone and cafe-bars line both the stalls and balcony areas to deal with the inevitable interval rushes. You can even take a back-stage tour if you fancy, providing you book. Keep an eye on the venue's website for upcoming shows, concerts, plays, conventions; you can never even take a guess at what's going to be on next.
