WOOD. Wine & Deli

As the rest of the Northern Quarter’s focus has been on perfecting diverse cocktail menus whilst simultaneously keeping the Chicago beer scene afloat, few places have given thought to that old friend, wine. Fortunately, wood. wine & deli is here to help us rekindle that romance. With chairs that look like tree trunks (which are as heavy as ‘em too!), an intriguing Jenga-like bar area, and sharing boards made from Mexican wood, the clue’s in the name here… So, you’ve guessed it: there’s also deli food and wine. With over 30 wines to choose from, only a few are available by the glass, so it’s best to visit with friends so you can try the really good stuff! Food’s kept simple - with breakfasts, posh sandwiches and a few hot dishes. Most drool-inducing though are the sharing platters, piled high with cheeses, cured meats and antipasti.
