Simple Bar and Kitchen began life back in 2001, before the Northern Quarter was awash with facial hair, undercuts and craft beer bars at every turn. Their offering - unsurprisingly - is relatively simple: a concise food menu consisting of burgers, sandwiches, and brunch at weekends, but the thing that keeps us going back is their excellent happy hour on cocktails: between 4 and 8pm every weekday, an excellent selection (read: Amaretto Sours and Espresso Martinis to name but a couple) sold at £4.50.
