The Finnieston

The Finnieston is the perfect blend of old man’s pub and high end restaurant, a microcosm of the area of Glasgow from which it takes its name. The low ceiling, cosy booths and a roaring real fire give the place a rustic, homely feel, and the interior is decorated with touches of nautical charm. Apt, given that the menu is largely seafood based. From oysters served on ice, via Cullen skink to a choice of fishy mains, The Finnieston is definitely one for lovers of fish, done well. Ne'er fear, though – there are several non-fish mains and a couple of vegetarian options to choose from, too, particularly on the Sunday Brunch menu.

The bar is well stocked, with luxurious choices to match the food. An impressive array of gins line the shelves, and the cocktail list changes according to the seasons – or, if you’re feeling flush, they have a lengthy menu of champagnes to impress a date with.
