Housed in a beautiful 19th century building, with modern additions nailed to either side, Z-Arts is a multi-purpose arts space located in Hulme. Formerly known as Zion Arts Centre, the venue rebranded in 2012 to place families and children at the centre of its ethos. The arts hub offers a range of courses and workshops for young people, including rehearsal spaces, a theatre, dance studio and a fully equipped music suite. Keep your eyes peeled on their events list: from lesser-known theatre companies to acrobatics performances, there’s plenty on offer to feed your cultural appetite. Z-Arts also offers a cafe on site, providing a light selection of meals, and regularly hosts comedy and quiz nights, as well as providing a stage for the young performers who use the centre.
