The French

Located in the Midland Hotel, The French is slightly more formal than its sister restaurant, Mr Cooper’s House and Garden. With the hotel’s century long history comes a restaurant with a reputation for high quality dining. Reinvented by 2012’s Great British Menu winner, Simon Rogan, The French isn’t necessarily somewhere you could just pop into for a meal on a whim - this really is fine dining. During the evenings, you can choose from a 6 or a 10 course menu, with the former setting you back £65 and the latter £85. The dishes available change regularly, as the kitchen only uses locally sourced, seasonal produce. The French’s meals maintain some of the restaurant’s heritage while using progressive techniques in the kitchen to create exciting, unique dishes.
