This Chorlton based tapas bar is pretty small but packs a punch with its food and its atmosphere. Bar San Juan’s traditional exterior and homely interior - complete with family photos, postcards and framed Spanish newspaper covers - is instantly welcoming and gives a bit of a community focussed impression. The menu provides all the classic tapas dishes, with anything from patatas bravas to lamb parcels and bacon wrapped prawns. Their bar stocks a pretty extensive selection of Spanish wines and beers - perfect to wash your food down with. Sit inside and soak up the bustling atmosphere over a few dishes or relax outside in the sun with a pint. There’s no bookings here, so make sure you get there early in the evening to grab a table as it’s a bit of a squeeze.
Bar San Juan was named as a winner in the Best of Europe category in the North West in The Skinny Food and Drink Survey 2014. Check out the other winners as voted for by The Skinny readers and read our feature on all of the winners of our international food vote.
