49 New Bird Street | Liverpool L1
Nothing says summer like a gin garden, so this little gem on New Bird Street in the heart of the Baltic Triangle is the perfect seasonal pop-up to chill beneath the great British sunshine. It’s pet friendly too; need we say more?
Brought to you from the same team behind the exclusive Berry and Rye, the Botanical Garden – now in its second year – opens its doors from March to September and offers the city’s gin lovers a range of smashing cocktails and delicious food in a secluded urban hideaway.
It’s a warmly-welcomed addition to creative Baltic Triangle hotspots such as Constellations and Camp and Furnace. The space includes an indoor warehouse, which has been host to an array of events including a monthly outdoor cinema club and various food and drink festivals from Independent Liverpool, plus club nights from mUmU and Freeze.
Outside in the gardens you’ll find walls animated by brightly coloured graffiti and street art on exposed brick walls covered in ivy. The seating arrangements are quaint and add to the relaxed feel of the place, as do the wheelbarrow flowerbeds and daisy-filled gin bottles scattered around for decoration.
And don’t worry if the sun isn’t shining: the Botanical Garden has got you covered. Rainy days will see you sheltered from the storm in the indoor greenhouse, equipped with a funky bar made from a converted VW campervan, plus cosy seats and blankets to keep you warm on chilly nights.
