32 Rodney Street | Liverpool L1 2TP
Situated inside an old HSBC bank buidling on the corners of Rodney Street and Hardman Street is MacKenzie's; a whisky lover's paradise and the first of its kind in Liverpool.
Staying true to the grandeur of its Rodney Street location, the bar’s high ceilings attach themselves to walls adorned with eccentric portraits and extravagant mirrors, and the floor is scattered with plush chesterfield sofas and captain’s chairs for you to nurse your drink in ultimate style.
There are over 300 whiskies behind the bar sourced from every corner of the world, as well as an impressive selection of cask ales and wines, and a separate gin bar that’s brand new for summer 2016. In fact, MacKenzie's is also a specialist in real and craft ales and recently won the CAMRA award for Best New Bar for 2016.
But drinks menu aside, perhaps our favourite thing about the place is its small but wacky heated outdoor courtyard. If the weather’s playing nice, take your drinks outside and get comfortable on one of the brightly coloured seats; they’re pretty impressive.
Head down to see what it’s all about – there are open mic nights every Monday and Sunday, and Wednesdays see the Liverpool blues duo Lousiana play a selection of classical blues hits from 9pm till late.
