Neatly tucked away just off Argyle Street in the eternally curious realms of The Hidden Lane, Volcanic Tongue is considered in some circles to be the finest record shop in the UK, although calling it a shop might just be a wee bit of a stretch - a combination of the difficulties one might have finding the place, and the unshakeable feeling that in reality it’s just one couple’s (admittedly amazing) record collection, all of which happens to be for sale. 

On offer is a staggering collection of underground material, including improv, psych, avant-rock, noise, power electronics, and world releases. They also boast an impressive selection of cassettes, a rarity worth checking out if only for the Proustian impact it might have on you.
