A-top a sweeping stone staircase at the start of Buchanan Street sits Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. Resident here since 1990, the Concert Hall is an icon of the city centre, linking two of the busiest streets in Glasgow. It’s used for a range of activities including exhibitions, meetings and conferences – but it’s the music events that dominate the programme. The 2,475 seat auditorium plays host to 400 concerts annually including classical, folk, country, world, rock and pop. It’s also the main venue for Celtic Connections, the world’s largest winter music festival, and hosts its own annual international classical season. Visitors can spend time before concerts in the gallery space or the Green Room restaurant and bar, and post-gig they'll find Glasgow’s city centre nightlife is right on the doorstep. Hurrah.
