At long last, Glasgow's favourite Mexican restaraunt has ventured forth across the M8 and set up shop in Edinburgh's city centre.

With its prime location on Lothian Road and generous opening hours, Topolabamba is the perfect place to get your spicy fix, whether you're looking for a quick lunch stop or a leisurely evening meal with pals before a night of navigating the city's cobbles – just lay off the Margaritas, yeah?

In terms of authenticity, Topolabamba has it all. The menu was inspired by the owner's travels, and is a perfect marriage between traditional Mexican cuisine and more contemporary street food. Wherever possible, ingredients have been imported directly from the country, so you can rest assured that what you're getting is the real deal. There are also nifty sharing platters, which are perfect if you'd like to try a little bit of everything. With tostadas, chimichangas and legendary fish tacos on offer, the only problem is knowing where to begin.

The kitchen closes at 10pm on weekdays and 10.30pm at the weekends, but the restaraunt and bar stay open a little later, so there's no need to rush. Simply sit back, enjoy an authentic Mexican beer or two, and forget about the dreich, Scottish weather outside.
