The Purple Pig Cafe

Located in what used to house Cafe Ruby, The Purple Pig is a bright space with a window display of on-trend vintage tea-sets and, you guessed it, a purple pig. Menus are pretty pared-down, but you can taste the care going into the cooking. Most of the food is prepared from scratch on the premises, and where possible prepared using local produce. Pastrami-filled bagels are from artisan baker Patisserie Joldo, and there are two daily quiches on offer. From Wednesday to Saturday it doubles as an early evening bistro (with a BYOB option) – serving up dishes from lamb and potato goulash to good ol' mac'n'cheese. Its homemade caramel shortbread is already attracting a loyal following.
