The latest offering from no.12 Picardy Place is the restaurant simply called Steak – instantly appealing to the more carnivorous of us. The venue itself is spacious, with over 100 covers – yet they’ve managed to create an intimate, rustic atmosphere with the use of large, antique mirrors and candlelight. They offer a limited selection of seafood and vegetarian options, but as the name dictates the majority of the menu is centered around meat. Alongside the usual cuts they also offer a range of sharing plates – both for couples and larger groups. And for something a bit different you can have your meat carved, and even cooked to order, at your table.

Steak also offers several deals during the week. There's the 'Steak n' Shake' Thursday (a steak, fries and smoothie for a mere £13) 'Wednesday Wine Club' (bring your own wine for a mere £5 corkage), and what is bound to be a popular one – the ‘Midnight Steak’, where the restaurant stays open until 2am on Friday and Saturday for all your late-night Steak needs. So, next time you experience those post-pub hunger pangs you can exchange yer chippie chips for something more upmarket – and far tastier.
