Machina Espresso - Nicolson Street

When it comes to coffee, Machina Espresso know their stuff.  Since opening their flagship coffee bar on Brougham Place in 2013, the company have gained themselves a reputation as Edinburgh’s experts in all things espresso.  With business booming, Machina now have their own roastery and have opened a shiny new shop over on Nicolson Street, bringing their trademark slick design and caffeine knowledge to Edinburgh’s Southside.

The new bar focuses more on the cafe side of the business and makes for a great place to whittle away a rainy afternoon. There’s a range of locally baked goods to munch on, as well as belly-warming soups.  The in-house White Label Espresso blend packs a fair punch, and customers are also able to choose from a menu of lovingly-selected guest coffees from rotating European, African and South American names.

Unabashed coffee geeks will not be disappointed with the snazzy range of brewing gadgets on display, and there’s also a range of Inker cups in stock, should you fancy treating yourself to a a little something for the old china collection.

Machina pride themselves on their espresso-making expertise, and as well as stocking a range of specialist brewing equipment, offer training for those looking to hone their latte-art skills.  Customers can rest assured that they are in safe hands and that no request will be too much trouble for the knowledgeable and friendly baristas.
