South Gallery

South Gallery is a studio space and gallery operated by artist Alex Allan. Alex graduated from Edinburgh College of Art back in 2011 with an Masters of Fine Art in Sculpture and has since been well exhibited in Scotland, including Static State at Summerhall, the Scottish Summer Exhibition at the Fleming Collection in London and Adult Soft Play in Glasgow. In 2015 Alex became the founder and owner of independently run South Gallery – a non-profit space in the South of Edinburgh which actually runs from a section of his own artist's studio. Despite the owner’s background in sculpture, South Gallery is looking to promote innovative art from all creative disciplines. The gallery supports well-crafted, carefully made work from artists who are setting out to begin a career in their chosen field. South Gallery will also be part of the 2015 Edinburgh Art Festival and will host internationally-renowned work from its wee space in Morningside over the festival period, and hopefully in festival years to come.
