This Northern Quarter establishment is widely thought of as *the* place for takeaway pizza in Manchester. Not everyone can finish a whole pizza, so since opening in 2012, Slice Pizza & Bread Bar has been selling pizza al taglio (that’s by the slice to you and me) for those who just want to grab a couple of slices. You won’t find plastic cheese and stale dough here - this Stevenson Square based cafe uses the freshest ingredients to create delicious, liberally topped pizza slices with crispy bases, handmade from scratch every day. There aren’t many takeaways in Manchester that offer an aubergine, spinach and goats cheese pizza, and Slice fill the gap in the market for low-priced gourmet fast food. While many choose to take their pizza slices away, you can also eat in the cafe and accompany your pizza with a freshly made coffee or a beer - perfect for a casual dining experience in the city centre. Slice opens until late in the evening every day, so it’s also a takeaway of choice for many after they’ve been to a gig or for a few post-work drinks.
Slice was named one of the best places on-the-go in the North West in The Skinny Food and Drink Survey 2015. Check out the other winners as voted for by The Skinny readers and take a look at our feature on all of the best places on-the-go.
