The Marble Arch was the original member of the Marble family, and is now the sister pub to two other establishments in the city centre. Pulling in crowds with their astonishing range of beers — including a selection made by their own brewery — The Marble Arch is the archetypal pub and more. The listed building is very much traditional looking, and provides a chilled out atmosphere instead of having a drink-yourself-silly party vibe. The bar itself has 11 hand pulls, serving guest ales as well as their own beers, and you’ll also find a seasonally changing food menu here too. Their gourmet meals aren’t the sort of thing you’d typically find on a pub menu, but are made using fresh ingredients and sold at low prices. You’ll also find plenty of traditional pub grub if lamb’s liver with mushroom pate isn’t your kind of thing, and there’s a rather extensive artisan cheese menu too. A pub quiz also takes place on the first Monday of every month.

The Marble Arch was named one of the best pubs in the North West in The Skinny Food and Drink Survey 2015 and in 2014, and Marble were also named one of the favourite local beers. Check out the other winners as voted for by The Skinny readers, and read our feature on the best beers and pubs.
