Dry Bar

A long-standing icon residing in the heart of Manchester's Northern Quarter, Dry Bar is one of the city's favourite food and drink establishments. Opened in 1989 by Factory Records, the bar has stood the test of time and is often a first choice for a few pre-gig drinks or a place to spend the whole night, with plenty of beers from around the world and more than a few classic cocktails on offer. It's a great place to eat in the day too — its food menu is not to be sniffed at, offering perfect pizzas, brilliant burgers and scrumptious sandwiches all at super cheap prices. Inspired by the cafes of Barcelona and Los Angeles, the bar has a contemporary feel but some of the original design features still remain to maintain its history. There's free entry events on every weekend — 24 Hour Pop Party and Good Vibes stay open until the early hours, making it a favourite for Manchester residents. [Charlotte Davies]
