A not-for-profit organisation that aims to support anyone with an interest in printmaking, through courses and workshops. Established in 1994, Hot Bed Press is the biggest open access workshop in the North West, giving people access to printmaking equipment and screenprinting facilities. This not-for-profit workshop is open every weekday and allows access to their facilities for just £3 per hour, welcoming everyone, from beginners to more experienced printmakers. Occupying two floors, there are a number of private studios available to rent as well as communal workspaces within the building. They also run over 50 courses per year, ranging from etching to zine making, book-binding to marbling, and strive to explore new techniques in order to further educate their members. Hot Bed also hold a yearly open studios event for visitors to see work by the resident artists, and they also have partnerships with the Universities of Manchester, Salford and Huddersfield, as well as running placements with international students from Utrecht and Helsinki. [Charlotte Davies]
