ArtWork

ArtWork is a warehouse based in Salford, more recently converted into a home for artists to work and exhibit. Launched with the aim of supporting a dynamic artistic community in Greater Manchester, ArtWork provides space and support for graduates, as well as newer, emerging artists and more established creatives. The space is artist led, re-investing any income generated by the building back into its development to improve the studios. With 25 studio areas housing 50 artists, their affordable ‘pods’ and workshops are all built from re-used materials, with one studio pod even using rubber from a Nike/Wayne Rooney advert for its flooring. The 20,000 sq ft space also has an exhibition room, with a capacity of 400 people. It is suitable for exhibiting artwork of all mediums, such as paintings, photography, sculpture, and bigger installations. As well as the artists’ spaces, ArtWork also offers a number of office spaces for small, independent creative businesses to rent.
