This multi-arts venue aims to bring new and experimental experiences to Liverpool. The Capstone Theatre opened in 2010 and primarily hosts live music from local, national and international artists, but also sees spoken word performances, radio broadcasts, plays and film screenings amongst its programme. With previous performances by the likes of Public Service Broadcasting, Jon Hopkins, and King Creosote, it’s clear to see that the venue puts no limit on genre, welcoming jazz, folk, classical and international music to the stage. The Capstone Theatre is part of Liverpool Hope University’s Creative Campus — whose music department has links to the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra — which means it’s also used as a teaching space in the day. It’s also home to the Liverpool International Jazz Festival, as well as Milapfest — a monthly afternoon of free Indian music concerts. Opening times vary, so take a look at our listings for more information. [Charlotte Davies]
