Located on bustling Bold Street, this not-for-profit, co-operative bookshop provides a literary sanctuary for the curious, radical readers of Liverpool. The shelves are brimming with a diverse selection of texts, many of which aim to empower and inspire people to make positive changes in the world. You’ll find books covering everything from feminism, LGBT, anarchism, socialism, sustainable living and so much more. You can find independent, local zines and magazines alongside a selection of DVDs and CDs as well. The staff are passionate about their work and incredibly friendly; visitors are invited to make themselves at home with cosy armchairs and a kettle, so you can make yourself a brew while getting lost in a book. The space also hosts regular book readings, signings, group meetings and occasional live music gigs. If you’re a regular visitor then sign up for a student loyalty card to save up for a discount.
