Although Liverpool has a whole host of vintage and charity shops worth perusing, none are more individual than 69A. You’ll find absolutely anything here, whether you mean to look for it or not. From clothes and vinyl to intriguing collectibles and antiques, it’ll help you decorate your house with one-of-a-kind homeware. You’re also pretty likely to find clothes and records that were brand new when the shop opened in 1976...
Some of their stock goes back decades, with a collection of Victorian antiques and Asian art and sculpture from the early 1800s all carefully restored and cared for before being put on sale. Some of it doesn’t come cheap though — depending on the condition, rarity and place of origin some of their more serious collectors items can set you back thousands of pounds. Not to worry though, there are still plenty of cheap gems that you’re unlikely to find anywhere else. Keep a look out too for the shop'sr very own feline friend, Murdoch, who has become very popular with customers over the years. [Charlotte Davies]
