There are few things in this world better than pizza, pasta and beer, so put your hands up and rejoice for Crust, Liverpool’s newest Italian eatery at the bottom of Bold Street.
Let the neon sign draw you inside to a heavenly pizza emporium – there are five different doughs on offer including an intriguing black dough, which is made from a natural vegetable charcoal that apparently detoxifies the body. Does this mean pizza is one of our five a day?
Choose from classics such as the Margherita, Diavola and Parmigiana or one of the white pizzas (the ones without a tomato base) including the Pollo, Regina Margherita or Bella Napoli. Most pizzas will set you back no more than £7.50, but if you fancy yourself as a ‘pizzaficionado’, expect to pay as much as £14 for the likes of the Gameri & Astice ‘special’ pizza.
There’s calzone too, but if for some reason you don’t want pizza, there’s also a decent selection of reasonably priced pasta dishes, grills and burgers and wraps. If you’re still hungry, try a Nutella pizza for a fiver and thank us later.
With great pizza should come great beer, and Crust has an impressive selection of bottles from both Italy and around the UK, including a good variety of local Liverpool-brewed ales. There’s also wine and a decent cocktail list, plus soft drinks and coffees if beer isn’t your thing.
Its buzzy atmosphere and modern interior makes Crust a good place to catch up with your mates over unbeatable pizza and a few bottles, and its vegan-friendly menu means you’ll find something to satisfy the palate of even the fussiest of eaters.
